Help on 3 ways

I purchased the wrong switches. didn't know there were two type. To have a three-way. Have to return switches to Amazon and will get the one that goes with a pair. my second time trying from Amazon. Mine broke on the on and off part. It only worked on the dimmer side. Trying but hope soon it will work. Thanks User's recommendation: Understand there is two types of 3 ways.
