CCL (Contractor’s Choice Lighting)

This has to be the absolute worst company that I have ever dealt with. Here is a copy of the letter that I had sent to them which clearly explains my situatuation: August 30, 2007 To whom it may concern: I am writing this letter to protest a charge which was placed on my card by Contractor Choice Lighting (www.ccl-light.com) on July 2, 2007. I had ordered some lighting fixtures and accessories for a new business which I was starting. My card was charged $798.19 for the order. Upon receipt of the order, I was informed that some of the product which I had ordered was on backorder. I waited approximately 10 days and followed up with a phone call asking the status of the backorder, and was told that it would ship within 7 days. Finally, I had reached the point in the construction process where I was forced to find the backordered products from another supplier. I then contacted Contractor Choice Lighting and spoke with a customer service representative named Denise. I informed Denise that I needed to cancel the rest of the order, since I was under time constraints, and had to purchase the items locally. After reviewing what I had received in my initial order, and what was missing, she agreed to issue me a credit for the missing and cancelled product. The difference was $376.77 plus $72.76 in shipping charges. A week or so later, I noticed that a credit had not been issued to my credit card and followed up with a phone call to Denise inquiring why the credit had not yet been issued. She said that she would look into it and call me back. After not hearing from her for a few days, I again called to once again inquire about the credit. Finally, a credit was issued on August 22, 2007, in the amount of $376.77 for the product that was never received and then cancelled. Upon receipt and review of the credit, I then called Denise again to ask why I had not been issued credit for the shipping charges. I explained that the initial shipping charge was for $144.26, and that I went back onto their website and placed a mock order for only the product that I had received, and the total shipping charge should have been $71.50, and that I should receive a credit for the shipping in the amount of $72.76. She said that she would speak with her accounting department and get back to me. After not hearing from her again for another 2 days, I called back and spoke with Denise and she still did not have an answer regarding the shipping charge credit. I told her that I was starting to get upset, and she said that the “upper management” was really busy and did not get back to her. I told her that I was also really busy, and didn’t have the time to keep following up with her regarding this order. I informed her that if I did not see a credit issued to my credit card by the end of business on 8-29-07 that I was going to file a complaint an official complaint with VISA. I proceeded to file a formal complaint with VISA and they told me that they could not do anything for me because CCL uses a second party billing system for their shipping. I would NEVER DO BUSINESS with this company again.
